Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Intern, you will assist our legal team in a variety of tasks, including reviewing marketing materials for compliance with advertising regulations and industry best practices. You will conduct legal research on emerging legal issues related to marketing, advertising, and consumer protection. Your responsibilities will also include assisting in the preparation of legal documents, such as contracts and disclosures, and supporting the team in managing legal risks associated with our marketing and advertising efforts. You will gain practical experience in legal analysis and problem-solving, contributing to a positive and efficient legal function within the company.

Legal Intern - Marketing/Advertising/Customer Service

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited law school with a focus on intellectual property, advertising law, or consumer protection.
• Excellent academic record, demonstrated by a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Strong understanding of legal principles relevant to marketing, advertising, and customer service, including but not limited to consumer protection laws, intellectual property rights, and advertising regulations.
• Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in legal writing and research methodologies; ability to synthesize complex information into concise, clear, and accurate legal memoranda and reports.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in a legal internship or related field (e.g., marketing, advertising, customer service).
• Familiarity with relevant legal databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
• Experience with contract review and drafting.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Knowledge of social media law and regulations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis) is a plus.
• Experience with document management systems is preferred.
